UFC 261 - Kamaru Usman vs. Jorge Masvidal II

Previously, the UFC announced that live, ticketed fans will be returning to events for the promotion in the US for next month’s UFC 261 card. UFC President Dana White has now confirmed that tickets for the event are now officially sold out after they went on sale earlier this week.

The upcoming fight card is slated to be headlined by Kamaru Usman vs. Jorge Masvidal in a rematch for the welterweight title. Two other UFC title fights set for the event are champ Zhang Weili vs. former champ Rose Namajunas for the women’s strawweight title, and Valentina Shevchenko will defend her women’s flyweight title agains Jéssica Andrade.

UFC 261 is being held at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. According to White, the event sold out in minutes of tickets going on sale, and it was “one of the fastest sellouts in UFC history.” He also stated it has the arena’s record for the highest grossing event.

Due to the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Ticketmaster website for UFC 261 noted that ticket buyers are agreeing to assume “full liability for any risks incurred before, during and after the event and agree to the current Terms of Use.” Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and various shutdowns and capacity restrictions, most events since UFC 248 have had to be closed to the general public. One exception was UFC 257 in January at the Etihad Arena, which had a limited capacity of ticketed fans in attendance.

UFC 261 will be held on April 24. It will be available live on pay-per-view via ESPN+.
