Billie Starkz on Accidentally Busting Open Britt Baker’s Nose in AEW Dark Match

– Fightful recently interviewed wrestler Billie Starkz, who discussed her experience getting to work in AEW for recent TV tapings of AEW Dark. Below are some highlights:

Billie Starkz on the experience in AEW: “Pretty amazing. I love the group of girls they have at AEW. I’ve had an amazing time in the ring. I also got the experience of wrestling Britt Baker facing Yuka (Sakazaki) again, which was amazing, and then to do it in my home versus Japan was a great experience to have.”

On AEW’s supportive environment: “Everybody is so supportive and they would come and give me feedback after the matches, things I can work on, things I can improve. Tony (Khan) has randomly popped up here and there, and he’s honestly the most awkward but nice human being you’ll ever meet. I’m like, ‘oh my God, I can relate to this man even though he’s running around,’ I’m like, ‘Do you need help, what’s going on?’ [laughs].”

On her match with Britt Baker and accidentally injuring her nose: “Honestly, I was a little freaked out in the match when it happened because I didn’t know, ‘She’s bleeding, are they going to cut the match, do we have to go home now? Do we have to get out the ring? What do I do?’ As soon as I saw blood, I was like, ‘Oh no.’ As soon as I knew things were good, I kept going and things were fine. As soon as we got to the back, she made it to the back before I did, and I’m looking for her to say sorry, but she’s already smiling and taking pictures. I was like, ‘I guess that means she’s fine.’ She comes running back up and was like, ‘I’m good, thank you, good match.’ ‘Oh okay. Is your nose good?’ ‘Oh, it’s just fragile, it was probably my fault.’ ‘Oh, okay, I guess this fine.'”
