El Hijo del Vikingo Vacates AAA Mega Championship Due To Injury

El Hijo del Vikingo has relinquished the AAA Mega Championship due to injury. As reported late last month, Vikingo announced that he had suffered a knee injury and will have to undergo surgery. AAA announced over the weekend that Vikingo has vacated the Mega Championship and that a new champion will be crowned at AAA Triplemania XXXII: Monterrey.
The announcement read:
“LAST MINUTE!
The AAA Mega Championship has been left vacant and will be played in #TriplemaniaXXXII Monterrey
Tonight in Mexico City @PrideOfMexico, Cibernético and @Psychooriginal will seek to be the first challenger in a 3-cornered fight
#OrígenesAAA”
Vikingo’s title reign ends at 833 days, the longest in the Mega Championship’s 16-plus year history. He won the vacant title at Triplemanía Regia II in December of 2021.
