Tony Khan has revealed who he considers AEW’s new “four pillars,” naming four of the promotion’s recent additions as standout talents helping shape the company’s future.

The term “four pillars” has long held significance in AEW. When the company launched in 2019, MJF, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, and Jack Perry were widely recognized as AEW’s original pillars. The label was used to highlight a group of young stars viewed as foundational talents for the promotion’s future. The concept eventually became part of AEW programming and played a central role in the build to Double or Nothing 2023, where the four original pillars were prominently featured in the world title picture.

The AEW President shared his picks during a recent interview with Joshua Godwin of Q93. When asked who he views as the modern version of AEW’s famous pillars, Khan quickly named Thekla, Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, and Mercedes Moné (via Fightful).

“Thekla, Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher and Mercedes Moné,” Khan said.

Thekla currently sits atop the women’s division as the reigning AEW Women’s Champion. Since arriving in the company, she has quickly become one of the promotion’s most talked-about stars and a major fixture in the title scene.

Kevin Knight currently holds the AEW TNT Championship and has emerged as one of the promotion’s breakout performers. Kyle Fletcher’s name comes as little surprise given his steady ascent over the past several years. A former TNT Champion, he has become a consistent presence in high-profile matches and championship programs.

The fourth name on Khan’s list was Mercedes Moné. The former TBS Champion has remained one of AEW’s biggest attractions since joining the company and continues to be featured prominently across the promotion.
