Drew McIntyre Defeats CM Punk at WWE Summerslam, Punk Attacks Seth Rollins
Drew McIntyre finally got some vindication at WWE Summerslam tonight as he was able to defeat CM Punk in their grudge match. Seth Rollins, who was the special guest referee, got involved early and often, distracting both men from the match and giving their opponent opportunities.
That played a role in the end of the match, when Punk noticed that Rollins had on the family bracelet McIntyre had stolen from him. When he questioned him, McIntyre hit Punk, who hit Rollins and knocked him out of the ring. Punk hit a GTS on McIntyre that only got two. Punk questioned Rollins, who argued back and told him to focus on his match. Punk responded by hitting Rollins with a GTS, which allowed McIntyre to hit a low blow and a Claymore. Rollins then counted the pinfall victory for the Scottish Warrior.
This was Punk’s first Summerslam match since 2013, which was a loss to Brock Lesnar. It was his first televised singles match since January 2014.
