R-Truth is departing WWE, as he announced via social media on Sunday. The WWE star posted to his Twitter account to reveal that he is exiting the company, writing:
“Im sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride, Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you”
Both Fightful Select and PWInsider report that the news is legitimate and that WWE is not renewing Truth’s contract.
Truth’s current WWE run lasted 17 years, as he returned to the company in 2008 after a seven year run in TNA. He had a previous run in WWE from 1999 through 2001 where he worked as K-Kwik. He is a former two-time United States Champion, a two-time Tag Team Championship, and a 54-time 24/7 Champion.
