– During a recent interview with Strawberry on Ice, WWE Tag Team Champion Angelo Dawkins, of The Street Profits, discussed the TLC match that took place on the April 25 edition of SmackDown. Dawkins recalled his spear on Tommaso Ciampa out of mid-air, and how he wanted to see if his surgically repaired torn meniscus would hole up. He said the following on the bump (via WrestlingInc.com):
“I mean honestly to be fair to with you, I have a really big time fear of heights. Then you know my knees broke the fall, so that was cool. The cool part is I had meniscus surgery at the beginning of the year, so I had to really see if my meniscus surgery really worked you know what I’m saying? I mean it looks liked it worked…people forget I’m 280 pounds alright? Gravity–I can jump pretty high, but gravity is also a real thing when it comes to me.”
The good news is that Angelo Dawkins made it out of the match intact, and The Street Profits retained their titles. Also, they will be defending their titles again next week at WWE SmackDown on Friday, July 11. It will be The Street Profits vs. The Wyatt Sick’s Erick Rowan and Dexter Lumis for the WWE Tag Team Championships.
The show will be held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. It will air live on the USA Network at 8:00 pm EST and on Netflix internationally.
