Xia Brookside Talks About Her NXT Comeback, Calls It An “Incredible Opportunity”

Xia Brookside has shared her thoughts on returning to NXT, calling it an incredible opportunity to prove her growth and passion for wrestling.

After a tag match on NXT UK in 2022, Brookside returned to NXT on the September 5 episode to face Candice LeRae in the first round of a tournament for the number one contender to the WWE Women’s Speed Championship. Almost a month later, she competed in a battle royale for the number one contender to the NXT Women’s Championship.

Speaking to Last Word On Sports in an exclusive interview, Xia said she’s thrilled to reconnect with fans and step back into the ring. Brookside credited her time away from WWE with helping her mentally and physically reset. She emphasized how the absence allowed her to train smarter, sharpen her technique, and rebuild herself in TNA ahead of her comeback.

“It wasn’t something that I knew was going to happen. It kind of it’s all just happening, and we’re all kind of trying to keep up and go with the flow. To go back and not only go back for NXT Showdown and the Battle Royale, I went back into the Speed Championship match, which was my debut for NXT. So, to go from the Mae Young Classic, sign with NXT UK for 4 years, move out here by myself, figure out a life, sign with TNA, which has been absolutely incredible to me, and then I now still get to go back to NXT. That’s crazy. It’s such an incredible opportunity.”

A second-generation wrestler and former standout in NXT UK, Xia Brookside’s path has been defined by determination and steady progress. Fans can expect Xia to feature in new rivalries and showcase her versatility in both TNA and NXT.
