The WWE Megastar, LA Knight, came up short in the finals of The Last Time Is Now Tournament against Gunther. BodySlam+ now has an update on the former two-time WWE United States Champion following his defeat.
2025 has mostly been an up-and-down year for Knight, but that’s reportedly expected to change soon. According to the report, despite some recent losses, Knight is still being viewed as “a top player” in WWE. Additionally, WWE sources have informed BodySlam+ that 2026 will be a much better year for the 43-year-old wrestler.
BodySlam+ reports that with last night’s main event angle on WWE Raw, Knight is being positioned as one of the top babyfaces in WWE now that he’s involved with The Vision. Last night’s show saw Knight come to the aid of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio following an attack by The Vision.
LA Knight later went on to face his old rival, Logan Paul, in the main event of this week’s WWE Monday Night Raw. However, Paul picked up the victory after the masked assailant from WWE Survivor Series: WarGames interfered, stomping Knight’s face on the announce table.
Following the match, The Vision continued beating down Knight, and Bronson put the Megastar in an ambulance after hitting him with a Tsunami on the top of a car in the backstage area.
BodySlam+ also reports that Knight’s involvement with The Vision angle is expected to grow his crowd reactions in a positive way. Additionally, WWE is reportedly aware of the big reactions Knight has been getting and wants to play the long game with the Megastar.
Whether or not this involves LA Knight finally achieving the WWE World Title run that has eluded him for his entire career remains to be seen. Before losing to Gunther in the finals of The Last Time Is Now Tournament, the WWE Superstar picked up wins over Matt Cardona, The Miz, and Jey Uso to advance to the final round.
