As previously noted, yesterday marked the fifth anniversary of the tragic passing of late AEW wrestler, Brodie Lee (aka Jon Huber), who passed away on December 26, 2020. Brodie Lee’s widow, Amanda Huber, later made mention of the tribute show held in her husband’s honor in a series of posts on X. She also recalled how her son, Brodie Lee Jr. (aka Negative One), hitting MJF in the face with a kendo stick.
Huber’s comments later drew a response from MJF. She initially wrote, “As much as a piece of **** @The_MJF is, I’ll never forget the tribute show. He was his terrible self to Brodie all day. When everyone else was extra nice, Max stayed horrible. Why? Because Max knew how much Brodie loved wrestling. He knew he needed that escape. That ability to enjoy the thing he loved more than anything in the world.” She added, “It also made it extra gratifying when Brodie finally hit him 💜”
MJF later responded, taking aim at Brodie Lee Jr., “Second that kid turns 18 he’s ****ed.” He later pointed out that he plans to beat up Brodie Lee’s son once he turns 18, adding, “NOT LIKE THAT! STOP! I mean, I’m gonna beat him up!!!!”
MJF should likely be a little more focused on the here and now, as he has a huge title bout coming up later today. He’s in a Fatal 4-Way Match where he’s looking to regain the AEW World Championship against reigning champ Samoa Joe, Hangman Page, and Swerve Strickland.
That title bout goes down later today at AEW Worlds End 2025. The event takes place at the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. It will be broadcast live on pay-per-view. You can view MJF’s comments on Brodie Lee Jr. below:
