WWE Chad Gable has been out of action for most of the year after suffering a shoulder injury, which forced him to undergo surgery earlier this year. Fightful Select has a positive update regarding the original El Grande Americano, as it looks like Chad Gable is nearing his WWE return.
According to Fightful’s update, Gable has recently been training at the WWE Performance Center and prepping for his in-ring return. It’s said that the wrestler is planned to be back by the 2026 Royal Rumble, and he will hopefully be ready “before then.” Gable’s injury also reportedly affected a great deal of WWE’s creative plans for the summer.
Due to Chad Gable’s injury, the mantle of El Grande Americano was turned over to Ludwig Kaiser. Fightful notes that this is expected to be addressed at some point. More on that end, BodySlam+ reports that an interaction between Chad Gable and El Grande American is expected shortly after Gable makes his WWE TV return.
Additionally, PWInsider reports that some within WWE expect Gable to be back as soon as next week’s first WWE Raw of 2026 in Brooklyn, New York.
Next week’s WWE Raw takes place at the Barclays Center on Monday, January 5. It will stream live on Netflix starting at 8:00 pm ET.
