WWE has had internal discussions about the possibility of a Steve Austin appearance in the near future, according to a new report. WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that there has been internal discussion about a potential appearance. The outlet notes that sources “aren’t confident” either way about whether he will actually appear, but that his name has been discussed among several departments.

Austin made an appearance at WrestleMania 41 in April of 2025 in Nevada, where he announced the attendance for night two and crashed his ATV into the barricade. His last match came at WrestleMania 38, when he faced Kevin Owens.

Austin has also confirmed that he was contacted for an appearance at WrestleMania 40 but was unable to do the event because he was busy with other commitments. He told Chris Van Vliet earlier this month:

“Things just didn’t line up. I had other things going on. I remember when they pitched that to me. I said, dude, I got some things going on. I don’t see myself being there. That was way in advance. Was it pitched to me, or did they want me there? Yeah. But I wasn’t in a position to go.”

The current report has no notes on what a potential appearance would entail.

The Texas Rattlesnake was one of WWE’s biggest stars during the Attitude Era, with legendary feuds with the likes of The Rock and The Undertaker.
