Apollo Crews vs. Mr. Iguana
-Well, this is the first time I have reviewed an Iguana match. Crews seems befuddled. This is the Main Event debut for Iguana and La Yezka. Iguana slithers around the ring and gets an arm drag. He flips into a seated position and the crowd applauds. Crews punts him in the gut and hooks a side headlock. Dropkick from Crews and he mocks the crowd for chanting “Iguana.” Iguana is lying like a dead animal and it gets a laugh out of the crowd. Delayed vertical suplex gets two. Iguana blocks a charge in the corner and comes off with a cross-body. The crowd sings about Iguana and he responds with a Tornado DDT. Crews to the floor, so Iguana goes for a slingshot plancha. Crews catches him and runs him into the post. Short arm clothesline gets two. Crews is from Stone Mountain, GA so he better know how to throw a short arm clothesline. Body Press but Iguana counters with a head scissors. Iguana gets Yezka involved and using Yezka as a weapon should be a DQ. Rana from Iguana gets two as he carries Yezka around in his mouth. Blake says he thinks it is up to the ref about a DQ. Apollo with an enziguiri and then stomps out Yezka. Iguana ends up on Crews’ shoulders and turns into a modified Rocker Dropper (Fame-Asser) for the pin at 5:05.
Winner: Mr. Iguana via pin at 5:05
-The crowd was into it and were happy to see Iguana get a win. This was okay. **
-Backlash Tampa!
-WWE Shop commercial w/ Dubstep. Deadpool would be proud!
Grayson Waller vs. Original El Grande Americano
-This could be fun! Waller throws kicks to keep Grande away, but he is able to get a take down. Waller grabs an arm and mocks Grande with an “Ole.” Grande fights his way out and gets a take down and does the mannerisms of a certain Shorty G. Probably just a fan! Waller ducks a clothesline but gets tossed with an overhead release suplex. Grande gets an armbar while hanging over the ropes. He heads up, but Waller pushes him to the floor. He slides out and connects with a clothesline. Back in Waller hits the rolling Flatliner for two. Grande comes back with chops, but gets stomped on the back in the corner. Tree of Woe and Waller kicks away. Waller teases going Coast and Coast and then just lands and jumps on Grande. Um, was that a mistake or was he just trolling the crowd? Weird! Waller mocks Grande, but gets caught with a T-Bone Suplex. Side Russian Leg Sweep followed by a rolling kick. Reverse Angle Slam and Grande heads up top. Waller rolls to the apron, so Grande follows. Waller catches him with an elbow and goes for the Rolling Stunner, but Grande catches him with a German Suplex. Knee by Waller, but Grande back with Chaos Theory for the win at 4:50.
Winner: Original El Grande Americano via pin at 4:50
-Solid match with a weird spot. I was hoping they would get a little more time. El Grande has a huge match in Mexico with El Grande, so he should get the win here. **1/2
-WWE2K26 commercial. I still haven’t bought it yet, but I did get MLB The Show 26 this past weekend. I am also still working my way through RE Requiem.
-Video and still photos from Mania with all the stats about attendance and social engagement. The Balor Demon entrance was so sick.
Akira Tozawa (w/ Otis) vs. El Grande Americano (w/ Bravo and Rayo)
-Doble Grande esta noche! Lockup and Grande backs Tozawa into the corner. Tozawa reverses and goes crazy with punches. Tozawa off the top with a head scissors. Another one, but Grande SPIKES HIM RIGHT ON HIS HEAD. Oh man, that was nasty! The ref quickly checks on Akira and Grande plays to the crowd. That was rough! Grande poses some more, so Tozawa pulls him off the ropes and goes to town with right hands in the corner. Rayo and Bravo distract and Grande brings Tozawa out of the corner with a suplex for two. Tozawa flips out of another suplex and hits a roundhouse kick. Rolling DVD gets two for Americano, so he follows up with a reverse chinlock. They trade strikes and Tozawa snaps off a rana. Shining Wizard! TOZAWAMANIA running wild! Suicide Dive to the floor. Tozawa heads up top, but Rayo shoves him off. Otis chases The Americanos to the back. Roll up by Tozawa gets two. He lands a head kick and comes off the top with the Senton. Grande gets the knees up to break and gets his back submission for the pin at 4:26.
Winner: El Grande Americano via pin at 4:26
-Just another basic match which was fine. Much like the previous match, Grande needed the win more. **1/2
-Thanks for reading!
