As previously reported, former WWE Superstar and Legacy member Ted DiBiase Jr. was in attendance at WrestleMania 42. Although DiBiase Jr. was found not guilty in a federal fraud trial, a report by Fightful Select says that the wrestler was never seriously considered to be involved in Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes’ feud heading into WrestleMania 42.

After DiBiase Jr. was found not guilty, many fans speculated that it could free him up to be used in the feud, and he could potentially be revealed as Randy Orton’s mystery caller. However, that individual was later revealed to be Pat McAfee.

Despite fan speculation and his past connection with Orton and Rhodes, WWE never planned for DiBiase Jr. to be involved in the feud, and there was never serious consideration for him to be figured in.

Orton also recently claimed in an interview with Culture Kings that DiBiase Jr. owes him $25,000. Fightful reports that’s that Orton’s financial claim against DiBiase Jr. was serious. However, the context of DiBiase Jr.’s alleged debt to Orton is unknown.

Additionally, it’s said that DiBiase attended WrestleMania 42 with his lawyer, but he reportedly wasn’t an invited guest of WWE. DiBiase also filmed his reactions while he was in the building.

Although he wasn’t invited to WrestleMania 42 by WWE, Ted DiBiase Jr. was invited to WrestleCon in Las Vegas during that week. Fightful reports that a source speculated that he was sponsored by the water company on his shirt for a ticket to the event.
