Chad Gable says he is in one of the best places of his WWE career, revealing that he feels creatively fulfilled after a recent run of storylines that he believes ranks among his strongest.
On this week’s episode of RAW, he continued his on-screen apology tour by attempting to make amends with Alpha Academy. Gable apologized to Otis, Akira Tozawa, and Maxxine Dupri for his past actions and admitted he had made mistakes. However, the reconciliation didn’t go as planned. Dupri rejected the apology, saying Gable was apologizing for himself rather than for those he had hurt. Alpha Academy then walked away, leaving Gable alone in the ring.
Speaking with Good Karma Wrestling, Gable reflected on the past month and admitted it has been a busy and unpredictable stretch. Even so, he said he is enjoying the ride and feels better than he has in quite some time.
The former Olympian acknowledged that his WWE journey has included plenty of highs and lows over the years. However, he believes things have come together at the right time, both creatively and personally. He now feels creatively fulfilled and is happy with the direction of his current run (via Fightful).
“It has been a wild month for me, as you can imagine, as you might’ve seen. I’m in good spirits. I feel like I’m in some of the best headspace I’ve ever been in wrestling. Things have been up and down for a long, long time, and right now, I feel like we’re in this awesome spot where I’m just creatively fulfilled, everything’s going well. We’ve got some good stories going on, coming off the mask vs. mask match that I was just so proud of for so many reasons. We’re in a good spot, man, I’m happy.”
Despite the aforementioned setback in the storyline, Gable says he is pleased with where he stands in WWE. According to earlier reports, several people in WWE are pushing to give him a prominent spot at SummerSlam, which will take place in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
