Alex Caceres Discusses His UFC Fight Night 92 Loss to Yair Rodriguez
MMAjunkie spoke to UFC featherweight fighter Alex Caceres after UFC Fight Night 92. In the main event, Caceres lost a split decision to Yair Rodriguez. Below are some highlights.
Caceres on how he feels after the fight: “I feel alright, just bumps and bruises everywhere. I’m just disappointed because I knew I could have done more. I felt like, during the fight, I could have done more and should have done more. I just let him get off first. It was just one of those things where I guess I was in my own head a little too much. I thought about it too much, and I wasn’t necessarily getting hurt by any of the punches or kicks or anything. I was just giving him too much time to set up his stuff.”
Caceres on the split decision and how he felt right after the fight ended: “I knew right when the fight ended that I should have done more and could have done more. I knew it was going to be close. I knew it was going to be a split decision and he was going to edge it out. He was the fan favorite. I was the underdog. In order for me to win the fight, I had to be more active.”
His thoughts on Yair Rodriguez: “I think he’s definitely good, man. He’s good and has a bright future ahead of him.”
