Alex Oliveira’s appeal of a no-contest in his first fight with Tim Means has been rejected. MMAjunkie reports that the NSAC has rejected Oliveira’s appeal of the decision from UFC 207, which was the result of an illegal knee that Means landed on Oliveira. Oliveira had been seeking the no-contest being overturned to a win because despite Means admitted to intentionally throwing the knee, claiming that he didn’t realize that Oliveira was considered a downed opponent because he thought the new unified rules were in effect when they weren’t.

The NSAC rejected the appeal because they felt Oliveira’s camp didn’t provide “adequate grounds” for a reversal. The ruling said, “The contest decision will stand and the matter will not be presented to the commission for hearing.”

The two faced off for a second time at UFC Fight Night 106 over the weekend, with Oliveira submitting Means in the second round.
