Aljamain Sterling Discusses His Bout With Jimmie Rivera

UFC bantamweight fighter Aljamain Sterling recently spoke to reporters in a media scrum ahead of UFC on ESPN 1( via MMAjunkie)> He’s set to face Jimmie Rivera for the upcoming fight card. Below are some highlights from the Aljamain Sterling scrum that took place at UFC on ESPN+ 1 last weekend. Sterling will face Rivera at UFC on ESPN 1 on February 17 in Phoenix, Arizona at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Sterling on Jimmie Rivera: “Someone said, ‘Sterling has no hands, or Aljo has no hands.’ I’m like, one, we’re not friends – you don’t talk about me like that. And you don’t use that nickname, those are for my friends. And, two, I just put hashtag, ‘We will see.’ Because we’re going to find out. I guarantee I’m going to piece him up. And that’s the gameplan: Piece him up, take him down and choke him out.”

Sterling on the match-up determining a new contender: “This one’s going to propel the next guy forward in terms of who’s going to be the next guy in line. … I think it’s going to be between Jimmie and I.”
