Amanda Nunes vs. Raquel Pennington Set For UFC 224 Main Event

Amanda Nunes will face Raquel Pennington in the main event of UFC 224. UFC officials announced on Thursday that Nunes will defend her UFC women’s bantamweight title against Pennington atop the card for the show, which takes place on May 12th in Rio de Janeiro and airs live on PPV. Preliminary bouts are set for FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

The fight puts Nunes’ anticipated bout with Cris “Cyborg” Justino on hold. White had said after Cyborg’s win at UFC 222 that he was considering that fight and that it “needs to happen.”
