Diego Sanchez Accepts Three Month Sanction For Violating UFC Anti-Doping Policy

February 1, 2020 | Posted by Ashish

The USADA announced Friday that Diego Sanchez has accepted a three month sanction for violating the UFC Anti-Doping Policy. Sanchez tested positive for the prohibited substances ostarine and S-23 from an out-of-competition urine sample on December 12, 2019.

Sanchez provided the supplements he was using to the World Anti-Doping Agency-accredited laboratory in Salt Lake City, Utah and it was found that even though they were not listed on the labels of the supplements, they did contain the selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs) that he tested positive for.

Sanchez was able to get a reduced period of ineligibility since he was able to prove that his positive test was the result of contaminated products, and that the low levels of the substances in question in the products would not have enhanced his performance.
