Francisco Rivera Notified of Potential Anti-Doping Violation
Francisco Rivera has been notified of a possible violation of the UFC’s anti-doping policy. The UFC announced today that they and Rivere were informed by the USADA that an out-of-competition sample taken on July 23rd was flagged. Rivera last fought in a unanimous-decision loss to Erik Perez at UFC 201 a week after the sample was taken.
The UFC said in a statement, “USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full and fair review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.”
