Justin Willis Responds to Tai Tuivasa Callout

December 2, 2018 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

Submission Radio spoke to Justin Willis after his win over Mark Hunt at yesterday’s UFC Fight Night 142 event. He also responded to Tai Tuivasa’s post-fight callout after Tuivasa was knocked out by Junior dos Santos in the main event. Below are some highlights (transcript via MMAjunkie).

Willis on the callout by Tai Tuivasa: “He’s concussed. The guy just lost in his home country. How embarrassing. It’s one of those things where you’re the main event, you come in here and you get knocked out and you call out a guy who beat up your daddy. You going to have to win a fight or two and then we’ll talk. I’m on to greener and brighter pastures. Top five. I’m after a belt and he’s not that guy right now.”

Justin Willis on Tuivasa wanting to protect Mark Hunt: “(Tuivasa) is going in to protect his daddy, what do you expect him to do? Mark, it’s a fight. Like I said, this is the fight game, not the like game. I’m not here to make friends. I’m here to dominate these guys, by any means necessary.”

Willis on how Australia isn’t Tuivasa’s after he lost: “If he won, but it’s mine now. Dos Santos is now. It got taken, literally. They got taken. ‘Shogun’ – all these, they lost. No offense to them all, people lose. Not me, but it’s one of those things. They lost. So he can’t be calling out a guy who won. That doesn’t make sense. That’s ignorant. That’s foolish.”
