UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz Elected to City Council in California

All election eyes may be on Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia, but local and state elections matter too. And MMA fans will be familiar with one of the winners for a Huntington Beach, California city council seat in Tito Ortiz. The UFC Hall of Famer won a seat in the city election, earning the most votes out of 15 candidates running for the seats.

The top three vote-getters in the council election won seats, with Ortiz earning 34,901 votes (14.3%) per the Los Angeles Times. Ortiz, whose MMA record stands at 21-12-1, last fought for Combat Americas were he defeated Alberto El Patron in a victory that was initially overturned for unclear reasons before being reinstated.
