Leon Slater Talks Celebrating His TNA World Title Win by Gaming

It used to be the cliche, after athletes won a game, for them to say they were going to Disneyland. Theme park tickets being as high as they are now, some celebrations go lower-key. For Leon Slater, youngest TNA World Champion of all time, the celebration was, as he admits, a very common one for his age.
Speaking on the I Love Wrestling podcast, he said, “As any other 22-year-old does after he wins a world title, I hopped on GTA with my friends the other day and I was playing my PlayStation and uh, I had the TNA Championship like set up on my TV table and I was on the party to my friends. I go, ‘You know what I’m looking at right now?’ And they go, ‘Oh yeah, like we’re driving through Los Santos, whatever,’ And I go, ‘No, no, bro. I’m looking at the TNA World Championship,’ like it’s in my room as I’m playing.”
“And it was just so difficult for me to compute, like this is the same room I’ve sat in for the past, you know, 10, 15 years, it’s the same game I’ve been playing for the past 13 years, and the only difference is I’ve got the actual TNA world championship on my TV table, you know what I mean, so it’s finally beginning to feel mine, and I’m excited for it to take me in a new direction and make some magic as TNA World Champion.”
