Agatha Harkness Walks The Witch’s Road In First Agatha All Along Series Trailer
The next MCU series arrives in September with Agatha All Along, and the first trailer carries a strong horror bent. Marvel Studios released the first trailer on Monday for the upcoming series, and you can check it out below.
The trailer sees Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) first trapped as a police detective in a serial killer-like premise. She finds a Jane Doe dead in the woods, and in the morgue the body gets the name of Wanda Maximoff — aka the Scarlet Witch, who of course trapped Agatha in Westview at the end of WandaVision but was apparently killed in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Agatha is then confronted by Aubrey Plaza’s character, who says that Wanda is gone and Agatha is trapped in the spell, and that it’s time for her to “claw your way out.”
Left without magic, Agatha puts together a coven so she can watch the Witch’s Road, a concept that was first explored in the comics during the 2016 Scarlet Witch series. A plane of existence that only magic users can use, the MCU version will allow Agatha to get that which she is missing — presumably, her magic. We also get a look at Joe Locke as the as-yet-unnamed teenager who helps break Agatha out (and may be Wanda’s son Billy, aka Wiccan).
The seriesa arrives on September 18th on Disney+ and stars Hahn, Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, with Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone, and Plaza. It is described as follows:
In Agatha All Along, the infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious Teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road…
