Batista Joins Legendary’s Dune Reboot

Batista has landed himself another big blockbuster movie role, this time in Legendary’s Dune reboot. Variety reports that the actor and WWE alumnus will play “Beast” Rabban, the sadistic nephew of a baron who oversees Arrakis, in the film. He joins Timothee Chalamet and Rebecca Ferguson in the movie.

Batista has carved out a nice career for himself in Hollywood, with roles as Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and big supporting parts in other films like Hotel Artemis and Blade Runner 2049. Dune reteams him with his Blade Runner director Denis Villeneuve, who is helming the film.

Ferguson will play Lady Jessica in the film, with Chalamet playing Paul Atreides, Within the Frank Herbert novel, Lady Jessica and Paul are part of a noble family who are forced to flee into the deserts of the planet Arrakis. Paul rises to become the new leader of the nomadic desert tribes. Lady Jessica helps convince the nomads that Paul is their messiah. From those humble beginnings, Paul’s quest will threaten to bring down the Emperor who plotted against his family.

The new film is expected to film next year.
