Benedict Cumberbatch Could See Himself Playing Doctor Strange For the Next 10 Years
Benedict Cumberbatch is at the top of the box office in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the actor says he’s up for playing the role for a good while longer. As noted earlier, the MCU sequel topped the box office with $185 million domestically and $450 million worldwide. Speaking with The National Post last week, Cumberbatch was asked if he could see himself playing the character for the next decade.
“Yeah! Absolutely. Absolutely,” he said. “If they keep me, and it’s interesting, and keep him evolving and try to exercise his full potential as a character, I think there’s a lot of places for him to explore. So yeah, bring it on.”
Cumberbatch has played the role in five films now between Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Multiverse of Madness. There’s no word on where he might next turn up in the MCU.
