Birds of Prey, The Gentlemen Arriving Early on Home Video
Warner Bros. and STX are the latest to push films out for home consumption a bit early, namely Birds of Prey and The Gentlemen. Fandango announced that the two films will be available on March 24th, which is 46 days and 60 days since they arrived in theaters, respectively.
The films are the latest to hit the home video market early during the novel coronavirus pandemic. While normally the theatrical window for films is about two and a half months, with theaters shutting down nationwide the studios believe there is no point in holding off on the dates because no theater chain is being hurt by it.
The move comes after Universal made a much more extreme decision, announcing that The Invisible Man, The Hunt, and Emma will be available on Friday through VOD rental for $19.99.
