Bryan Singer Has Been Dropped as Red Sonja Director

March 14, 2019 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Bryan Singer’s stint as a director of Red Sonja is over, as Millennium Films has quietly dropped him from the project. THR reports that Singer has been removed as a director of the project following new allegations levied against him of the sexual abuse of underage boys.

The site notes that Singer was not dropped specifically because of the allegations, but because Millennium was unable to secure a US distributor if the director was involved. The studio had already halted production on the film last month. At this point, it isn’t entirely clear whether the Ashley Edward Miller (X-Men: First Class, Thor)-written film will move ahead with a new director.
