Disney+ Releases Hamilton Trailer Ahead of July 3rd Premiere

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton arrives on Disney+ in a couple of weeks, and a trailer has been released for the filmed production. You can see the trailer below for the show, which is set to bow on the streaming service on July 3rd instead of the originally planned October 15th, 2021 theatrical release. The film’s release plans were changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic causing a global theatrical shutdown.

The filmed version was directed by Tommy Kall, who directed the original stage production as well. The version is put together from three separate performances at Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June 2016. The original Broadway cast — including Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton, Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr, Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler and Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton — stars.
