Ewan McGregor Says Doctor Sleep Will Stay Faithful to the Book

Star Ewan McGregor has confirmed that The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep will remain faithful to its source material. McGregor, who is playing the adult Danny Torrance in the film, told Stephen Colbert on The Late Show that the film will keep on the path of the sequel novel, as writtenm by Stephen King.

“It’s very faithful to the book, the script. If you’ve read the novel, that’s the story we’re going to tell,” McGregor said.

The film also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Zahn McClarnon, Carl Lumbly, and Alex Essoe. Mike Flanagan is directing the film, which follows the adult Danny as, struggling with alcoholism and the pain of his childhood exprience, runs afoul of a group of quasi-immortal cultists who seek those with the shining and torture them to death for sustenance.
