First Obi-Wan Kenobi Trailer Teases Grand Inquisitor, More
The first trailer for the Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series is online, giving us our first look at the show before it debuts in May. Disney+ released the teaser trailer on Wednesday, and you can check it out below.
The trailer features Obi Wan (Ewan McGregor) living a solitary life on Tatooine as he keeps an eye on Luke and his family. Meanwhile, the Grand Inquisitor is continuing the hunt for Jedi because, as he says in voiceover, “Jedi cannot help what they are. Their compassion leaves a trail.”
The series stars McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. Directed by Deborah Chow, it launches on May 25th and is described as follows:
The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
