In Search of Darkness: Part III

The In Search of Darkness horror documentary series is set to delve even deeper into 1980s horror with a third part of the franchise on the way. The CreatorVC documentary series announced on Twitter that In Search of Darkness: Part III is officially under development. You can see the announcement tweet below.

The documentary series kicked off with 2019’s first entry In Search of Darkness: A Journey into Iconic ’80s Horror, which looked at both the iconic and obscure of horror in the decade. It was followed up with In Search of Darkness: Part II which released earlier this year; you can check out our reviews of that documentary here and here. The documentaries are known for covering a wide variety of movies and interviews with a ton of fillmakers, actors, critics and more, not to mention their prodigious length at four hours each. Both films are currently available to stream on Shudder.

In addition to the horror docu-franchise, CreatorVC has In Search of Tomorrow, which will give the same treatment to 1980s science fiction, in the works. That documentary raised $678,000 on Kickstarter and $1.04 million on IndieGogo and will feature interviews with John Carpenter (They Live), Jesse Ventura (Predator), Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters), Walter Koenig (Star Trek), Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: TNG), Nancy Allen (Robocop), Joe Dante (Explorers), Paul Voerhoeven (Robocop), and many others.
