Variety reports that upcoming horror-thriller from Jordan Peele, Us, has had its release date moved back one week. The film will now be released to March 22.

As previously reported, the film is set to make its debut at the 2019 SXSW Film Festival. Universal Pictures reportedly moved the release date back a week to build more buzz after its selection for the festival.

The upcoming film stars Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex, Elizabeth Moss, Cali Sheldon, and Noelle Sheldon and opens wide on March 15th. Set in present day along the iconic Northern California coastline, it stars Nyong’o as Adelaide Wilson, a woman returning to her beachside childhood home with her husband, Gabe (Duke), and their two children (Joseph, Alex) for an idyllic summer getaway.

Haunted by an unexplainable and unresolved trauma from her past and compounded by a string of eerie coincidences, Adelaide feels her paranoia elevate to high-alert as she grows increasingly certain that something bad is going to befall her family.

After spending a tense beach day with their friends, the Tylers (Moss, Tim Heidecker, Sheldon, Sheldon), Adelaide and her family return to their vacation home. When darkness falls, the Wilsons discover the silhouette of four figures holding hands as they stand in the driveway. Us pits an endearing American family against a terrifying and uncanny opponent: doppelgängers of themselves.

Academy Award-winning screenwriter Jordan Peele writes and directs the new feature from producer Jason Blum. The film will now open in theaters on March 22.
