Knives Out Sequel Planned For Late 2022 Release, Likely Festival Airings in Fall
The second film in the Knives Out franchise is expected to release in the fall, according to a new report. Variety reports that Rian Johnson’s next entry in the series is planned for the last quarter of 2022 with a release in both theaters and on Netflix.
The film, which is the follow-up to the hit 2019 film, stars Daniel Craig once again as Benoit Blanc. It will also star Kathryn Hahn, Ethan Hawke, Edward Norton, Dave Bautista, Kate Hudson, Janelle Monáe, Leslie Odom Jr, Jessica Henwick and Madelyn Cline. The site also notes that the movie will likely have a run at festivals, though which ones exactly have yet to be revealed.
Plot details on the film, which Johnson is back to write and direct, have yet to be revealed. Netflix won the rights to two follow-up films for a $450 million price tag.
