Madelaine Petsch Gets An Ominous Knock In First The Strangers: Chapter 1 Clip

The Strangers is getting a new trilogy starting next year, and the first clip from Chapter 1 is online. Lionsgate released the clip over the weekend following its debut at New York Comic-Con, and you can check it out below. The clip features Madelaine Petsch (Riverdale) in a cabin where she gets a very familiar knock on the door for those who have seen 2008’s original film.

The film is kicking off a new trilogy directed by Renny Harlin, which has already completed filming in its entirety. The first entry stars Petsch, Froy Gutierrez, Rachel Shenton, Gabriel Basso, and Ema Horvath and will release next year. It is described as follows:

Madelaine Petsch stars as a young woman on a road trip with her fiancé. But when they stop at a remote vacation rental in the woods, they become the prey of a vicious gang of masked strangers who attack without warning or reason, and must use courage and cunning to survive one long, terrifying night.

The original 2008 film starred Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman and was directed by Bryan Bertino, grossing $83.1 million worldwide against a $9 million budget. The second film, The Strangers: Prey at Night, released in 2018 and made $32.3 million against a $5 million budget.
