Marvel Delays Deadpool 3 From Original May Release Date

Deadpool 3 will release later than planned, with Marvel Studios moving the sequel off its May 2024 date. Deadline reports that the studio has bumped the threequel off of its previously-set date of May 3rd, 2024.

The move comes as a result of delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. According to the report, even if the strike were to end in the next couple of weeks there would be too much to do in order to get the film done in time for the release date.

According to the report, sources say there is a “long shot” that Captain America: Brave New World moves back into that May 3rd release date. Brave New World was originally set for that date and then was moved to July 26th. It has finished production and thus is in a better state than Deadpool 3. If the Deadpool film doesn’t go to July 26th, Disney has potential dates in early November and late December.

It was also noted that Disney hasn’t officially announced the move and didn’t return a request for comment.
