Neil Gaiman’s comic series Dead Boy Detectives has had its series adaptation officially moved from HBO Max to Netflix, according to a report by The Hollywood Reporter. The series, described as “…a vintage detective series — only darker and on acid,” has been under development by Warner Bros. Television but was sold due to lack of cohesion with the reimagined DC empire currently being helmed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The story focuses on a pair of deceased British teens, Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland, who have opted to remain on Earth to solve supernatural crimes rather than moving on to the hereafter. Dead Boy Detectives is the most recent series altered or cut from HBO Max due to the organizational shifts, a list that also includes Pennyworth, Doom Patrol, and Titans.
