Paramount Sets Release Date For The Running Man Remake, Katy O’Brian Joins Cast
Paramount’s remake of The Running Man has a release date as well as a new cast member in Katy O’Brian. Deadline reports that the Edgar Wright-directed remake of the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring sci-fi/action film will release on November 21st, 2025.
In addition, O’Brian has joined the cast of the film, which stars Glen Powell in the lead role. O’Brian made a splash this year with her role opposite Kristen Stewart in Love Lies Bleeding. She appeared opposite Powell in Twisters and will next be seen in the untitled eighth Mission: Impossible film.
Wright co-wrote the script for the new Running Man with Michael Bacall. Like the 1987 film, it is based on the Stephen King short story (first published under his pen name Richard Bachman) about a dystopian world in which a man participates in the reality show The Running Man, which sees contestants try to win money by evading hitmen sent to kill them.
