As previously reported, WWE Superstar Roman Reigns is said to be in talks to star in the upcoming Street Fighter movie reboot for Legendary Pictures. Fightful Select has more details on his potential role.

According to the report, Roman Reigns is being considered for the role of the enigmatic antihero of the Street Fighter series, Akuma. Fightful notes that nothing has been finalized yet in terms of Reigns’ casting.

Akuma first debuted in the arcade version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo as a secret character an alternative final boss over M. Bison. Akuma is the younger brother of Gouken, the martial arts master of Ryu and Ken Masters.

Akuma has appeared in many games and Street Fighter adaptations over the years, including the 1995 animated series that aired on USA Network and the live-action digital series, Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist, portrayed by Joey Ansah.

Other actors rumored to be in talks for the film include Jason Momoa, Noah Centineo, and Andrew Koji. Plot details are reportedly being kept under wraps. Kitao Sakurai directs the upcoming project for Legendary. It’s currently dated for a March 20, 2026 release.

Roman Reigns previously appeared in Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw opposite his cousin, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
