Sam Raimi Reportedly in Talks to Direct Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Sam Raimi is making moves to return to Marvel movies, as he’s reportedly in talks to direct Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Variety reports that Raimi is in discussions to take the helm for the film, which lost its director after Scott Derrickson exited over creative differences with Marvel.
Derrickson is stills et to executive produce the film, with Raimi returning to the head of a Marvel film for the first time since the Toby Maguire-led Spider-Man franchise. Raimi will now have to get prepared for the sequel so that it can make its scheduled May start date.
Raimi has both comic book and horror credibility between his Spider-Man franchise and Darkman, as well as his work on films like the Evil Dead trilogy, Drag Me to Hell.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to open on May 7th, 2021.
