SDCC: AMC Unveils The Walking Dead Season Nine Trailer, Andrew Lincoln Confirms Departure

AMC has released the season nine trailer for The Walking Dead after its San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel presentation. You can see the trailer below for the new season, which will premiere on October 7 on AMC.

During the panel, Andrew Lincoln confirmed he will be leaving the show, saying (per CS.net), “This will be my last season playing the part of Rick Grimes. I love this show. It means everything to me. I love the people who make this show. I’m particularly fond of the people who watch this show.”

The ninth season of the series will jump forward in time following the events of the group’s All Out War with Negan and his Saviors and will highlight a changing infrastructure in the physical world as Rick works to build the more peaceful utopia that his late son, Carl, envisioned.
