Universal Pictures is pushing Candyman out by a month, while setting a new release date for The Forever Purge. Variety reports that the studio has bumped the Nia DaCosta-directed Candyman revival from September 25th to October 16th. The film, which was previously set to release on June 12th, stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II,Teyonah Parris, Colman Domingo, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, with original Candyman Tony Todd reportedly set to return as well.

Meanwhile, The Forever Purge is set for a longer delay. The film was taken off Universal’s release schedule earlier this year amid the pandemic shutdown but was set to release this Friday. It will now release on July 9th, 2021. Directed by Everardo Gout, the film is being billed as the final movie in the franchise.

The moves come after Universal announced that Halloween Kills is being pushed out from October 16th of this year to October 15th, 2021.
