Will Smith Gives Update On I Am Legend Sequel
Will Smith says there are some “really solid ideas” coming together for the planned I Am Legend sequel. It was reported back in 2022 that a sequel to the 2007 post-apocalyptic action horror film was in the works, with Will Smith returning to star alongside Michael B. Jordan. Not much about the film has been said since, but Smith gave a brief update on the film in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in which he said he and Jordan have come together to talk about ideas for the film.
“We had a couple weeks together about a month ago,” Smith said. “So, [we had some] really solid ideas… I think we’re going to make it on screen together. I think it’s looking good… That dude [Jordan] is the truth, so I would love to do that.“
Warner Bros. and Akiva Goldsman‘s Weed Road are developing the sequel to the film, which was an adaptation of the Richard Matheson novel. Smith played Dr. Robert Neville, a man who has survived an outbreak that turned the world into vampire-like creatures as he’s immune to the virus. The film grossed $585.4 million worldwide against a $100 million budget.
