Agents of SHIELD actor Zach McGowan has joined the cast of NBC’s untitled Bad Boys spinoff pilot. THR reports that McGowan, best known as Ice Nation King Roan in The 100 and Anton Ivanov in Agents of SHIELD, will play the main villain in the planned series. McGowan’s character is named Ray Sherman, a slick-suited nightclub owner who is not afraid of a little hustle.

The Bad Boys spinoff revolves around LAPD homicide detective Syd Burnett (Gabrielle Union) getting a fresh start in her new job. She is partnered with Nancy McKenna (Jessica Alba), a working mom who can’t help but look at Syd’s freedom with some grass-is-greener envy.

The pilot is currently shooting and will be competing for a spot on NBC’s fall lineup.
