Sean “Diddy” Combs will officially go on trial for sex trafficking charges in May of next year. As Deadline reports, a hearing was held on Thursday in Manhattan in which the judge set a May 5th, 2025 start date for the trial.

Combs was arrested in September after he was indicted by a grand jury on charges of forcible sex trafficking, transportation of prostitutes and racketeering conspiracy. He has been in federal custody ever since. Combs entered a plea of not guilty last month.

Prosecutors said at today’s hearing that a superseding indictment could be on the way, which means that the charges could be amended in some way. It could mean that a current charge would be dropped or replaced, or that new charges could be coming out of the investigation.

Combs is alleged to have coerced women into sexual encounters with male sex workers in so-called “Freak Offs” where the women were drugged, threatened with violence and physically prevented from leaving. A number of the encounters are alleged to have been filmed and used to possibly blackmail or silence those involved.

The next hearing in the case is set for December 18th as of now.
