Intercontinental Championship: “The Inspirational” Bo Dallas vs. Dolph Ziggler(c)
Cesaro is very unpleased with Saxton not offering a handshake, but a fist bump instead. Bo Dallas has a mic before the match. He met a young boliever in catering and there was only one cheesesteak left and she gave it to him. He looked at her with tears in his eyes and threw it in the garbage because it is a heart attack on a bun. Mark Henry who he defeated three times took it out of the garbage and ate it.
They start the match by circling to huge lets go ziggler chants. The crowd is molten for Ziggler as the two men reach a stalemate. Another lock up leads to a few arm ringers and Dolph follows that into a tight headlock. Bo reverses the headlock into a reverse armlock. Cesaro puts over Bo’s wrestling ability and him earning this shot. Dolph fights out of the armlock and hits a few hip tosses. Cesaro cuts off Cole who tries to minimize Bo’s accomplishments. Bo reverses and starts stomping him into the ground. Bo grounds him in a tight headlock. The crowd starts chanting for Ziggler, but Bo keeps cutting him off. Bo starts kneeing his midsection and pins him for a 1 count. Bo gets the headlock again. Dolph fights out on a jawbreaker and hits a leaping clothesline. The falling neckbreaker is scouted, as Bo smartly rolls him up to the outside of the ring releasing the roll-up. We go to a commercial break.

Bo puts a foot on the chest for a 1 count and then hits a knee drop to the face. Bo lifts him up and starts cornering clotheslining him. Bo charges, and Ziggler sidesteps. Both men are down right now. Dolph comes alive with flying forearms and the swinging neckbreaker. Dolph misses the fame asser, and Bo side steps into a lifting hip toss uranage move. 1..2..kickout. OFFICIAL RESULT Dolph Ziggler: @ 9:00 via pin
MATCH THOUGHTS: Cesaro is pretty awesome as an announcer because he puts over both competitors and himself. Also, I must give Bo Dallas some credit. He’s never impressed me in the ring before, but he controlled the majority of the match and it entertained me. This is the first good Bo match I’ve seen, and he deserves credit for hanging with Ziggler. A little thing, but it really bothers me that they have the champions come out first. I always hated that, and last time there was an IC title match on Main Event the champion came out last. There is no consistency with that. Nonetheless, good opening match.
They recap the Today show people partying with Adam Rose. They even kept the boos unedited for the Today show people.
We go to a commercial break.
Kane is backstage with a piece of paper. Tyson said he is his own man and more than Natalya’s husband. Kane said that we all know that Natalya wears the pants. Tyson will apparently be facing Swagger and Kane tells him to try not tapping out to Swagger like he does his wife.
They show clips from the Brie and Nikki feud from Raw.
Nikki Bella, Summer Rae, Cameron, and Layla vs. Brie Bella
Of course, only Nikki gets an entrance for the heel side. Brie and Summer start things off which is for the best. Summer shoulder blocks her down and goes for a botched takedown. Brie gets the offense with dropkicks and hip tosses. 1..kickout. Summer knees her in the midsection bringing in Layla. Layla mafia kicks her in the face and keeps working the midsection before hitting a nice implant DDT. 1..2..kickout. Layla pins her seductively, but Brie starts to fight back. Layla regains the advantage quickly and tags in Cameron. They double team Brie and throw her into a falling Cameron clothesline. Brie rolls her up for 1. Cameron mocks the yes chants and then grounds Brie in a chinlock. Nikki taunts Brie from the apron and Cameron slaps her down. Cameron hits a snap suplex and a splitting leg drop. 1..kickout. The crowd seems disinterested chanting something unrelated as Cameron gets a surfboard stretch. Brie tries to roll Cameron out and Cameron botches it her first of the match. Brie hits a missile dropkick and takes a shot at Nikki. Cameron takes advantage and they seem to be playing ring around the rosy for a second. Summer knees Brie in the back and Nikki pushes Summer off who wants a tag. Nikki pushes Cameron away too and taunts her partners. Nikki hits the torture rack backbreaker. 1..2..3.
OFFICIAL RESULT: Nikki Bella, Summer Rae, Cameron, and Layla @ 5:00 via pin
MATCH THOUGHTS: This progressed the feud. The match actually was not bad though. Layla hit a nice DDT which is a rarity and Cameron mostly hit everything. The work was decent, but the crowd doesn’t seem to care much for this feud. Regardless, not a bad match and at least Brie lost a handicap match for once.
They show the Rusev and Rock segment from Raw last night.
Zeb Colter is discussing strategy with Jack Swagger backstage, as we go to another commerical.
Tyson Kidd with Natalya vs. Jack Swagger with Zeb Colter
Zeb says this is not an American or Canadian thing, but a manhood thing. Everyone knows where Tyson keeps his manhood in Natalie’s purse. It’s not that big of a purse. Zeb tells everyone to say along with him in a loud city of brotherly hood voice, “We the People.” The crowd repeats as Swagger enters the ring.
Tyson charges Swagger and starts pounding into him relentlessly. The crowd starts chanting we the people as Tyson dropkicks Swagger in the head. Tyson grounds him in a front face lock. Swagger tries to charge Tyson who dropkicks him in the knee and grounds him in another front face lock. Tyson is lifted into the air and dropped by Swagger. Swagger chases Tyson who tries to sucker him in, but Swagger sees it coming. Swagger hits a corner knee and hip toss. Swagger tries to get the crowd into it before going for a Swagger bomb. Tyson counters with a foot, that Swagger catches with the Patriot Lock. Tyson suckers Swagger in and hits a unique jumping springboard reverse jacknife pin. 1..2..3.
OFFICIAL RESULT: Tyson Kidd @ 3:00 via pinfall
MATCH THOUGHTS: This was good despite being such a short match. These two could probably put on a good match if given a lot of time. This match furthered the story if anything else, and it was decent which is all that I can ask.
Tyson continues to ignore Natalya who seems happy for him.
They show Joan Lunden from Raw last night and put over breast cancer awareness.
According to Cole, everyone is buzzing about Raw last night. Now we go to the Raw Rebound. The only good thing I can say about this is that Ambrose is like Vincent Price in a campy horror film (mind you, I love Vincent Price films), he makes anything work no matter how ridiculous it is, even a hot dog stand.
We go to another commercial break.
Stardust with Goldust vs. Jey Uso with Jimmy Uso
Stardust attacks Jey as the bell rings. He throws him to the outside of the ring and does the DDP taunt. Jey comes in and clotheslines him to the outside, and hits a suicide dive. Jey tries to kick Goldust and Jimmy hits him with a cross body on the outside. Stardust takes advantage of the distraction hitting Jey with a lifting spin suplex off the ropes. 1..2..kickout. Stardust continues to ground him with stomps. Stardust attacks with a knee choke and some punches. Stardust chokes Jey with his own shirt, but I guess that doesn’t warrant a disqualification. Stardust catches him in a reverse full nelson. Jey fights out slowly and runs towards Stardust who clips him with a knee. 1..2..kickout. The announcers start putting over Booker T after speaking about the Booker T and Goldust tag team. Stardust chokes Jey on the ropes with a knee and throws him on a hip toss. Stardust taunts to boos. Cole keeps promoting the Smackdown debut episode on the Network which is next. Jey hits a tope rope cross body as Stardust is stunned. 1..2..kickout. Jey with a superkick to the midsection and Stardust flips out of the belly-to-back suplex. Stardust is caught in a Samoan Drop and Jey hits the hip attack and gets him centered in the ring. Jey goes up top, but Stardust was playing possum and knocks him to the outside right onto his knee. Jey hits a superkick on Stardust who sticks his face to the outside. Jey hits a body splash on Stardust’s back. 1..2..3.
OFFICIAL RESULT: Jey Uso @ 6:00 via pinfall
MATCH THOUGHTS: This match was mostly just there. I mean these two work well together, but it wears on people after seeing them wrestle so many different times. Nonetheless, the work was good as you would expect.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Bo Dallas and Dolph Ziggler had a good match to start the show right. Bo really impressed me in this one and Ziggler was his usual self. The handicap match was better than it had any right to be. Layla pulled off a few good moves and Cameron only botched once despite being in the ring the longest of her team. Still, the handicap matches bury the rest of the girls by not being to beat Brie even with help. Regardless, she lost this time. The following match with Swagger and Kidd was good and I wished it got more time. The last match was decent work as well, but these four have worked together far too much. The announcers ignoring the action at various times didn’t help either. Regardless, there was good wrestling throughout, so I cannot complain. Good show, and thanks to any who read the recap!
