411’s WWE Table for 3: Table for 3MB Report

-Original Air Date: October 1, 2018

-Run Time: 25:14

-It’s an episode we’ve all been waiting for even if we didn’t know it. They finally reunite the 3 members of 3MB and I am looking forward to this one as each has had their share of success in the WWE since the group split.

-Wonderful touch as the opening music is interrupted by the 3MB theme song.

-Drew brings up that he hasn’t seen Slater in a few years and sarcastically thanks him for coming to his wedding. Jinder points out that he was here and he even wore a kilt. They show a picture of the men in the wedding and sure enough Jinder is sporting a kilt and Sheamus was in the wedding as well. Slater talks about having kids and how he was in the middle of moving to Florida.

-They all reminisce about their days together and how they were all young and wild. They talk about their debut as 3MB in Nashville back in 2012, They show the footage from the group starting on RAW. Slater talks about doing the Legends deal where they all beat him up, and things were getting stale for him, so he ran with the 3MB idea.

-Heath pitched the idea of getting a band to Michael Hayes and he finally told him they would run with the idea. Hayes informed him he would be getting Jinder and Drew. Heath said that to him it sounded like a bad joke along the lines of “a redneck, Scotsman, and Indian walk into a bar.”

-Drew said that he was spinning his wheels at the time and he was happy to just have something. Jinder says that he had heard rumors about the group forming and he just kept praying that he wasn’t going to end up in the group.

-Jinder talks about getting gear made and they told them they would all be in leather pants. Heath was worried about how hot he would be in those tights. Great story from Drew as he says that his Claymore finisher came from having to wear those tight leather pants. He was just going to do a standard running boot, but the pants were so tight they had him leap and it turned into what we now know as the Claymore. He jokes about nearly injuring himself and having to tag out of the match. Naturally, footage of the spot in included.

-They talk about the videos they shot for Tout and it was the goofy stuff like this that got them over as a comedy act. You can’t say they didn’t go all out with the gimmick.

-Jinder talks about when they had Hornswoggle as part of the group. Drew puts over Wee-L-C as the biggest match for the group and how everyone thought it was a joke, but by the end the crowd was buying into the work and so was the crowd. Damn right! That match was so much better than it had any right to be, and turned into a hell of a deal with crazy, good work from everyone involved. Definitely a must watch. Jinder brings up that Hornswoggle and Torito got a standing ovation from the boys in the back after the match.

-Heath brings up that Drew said as a kid he wanted to be 2 things: a wrestler and a rock star. They talk about how if they put out one song they could have had something. Even Drew says that with their following with the WWE they may have been able to crack some music charts.

-Drew talks about leaving the company and being outside the bubble of the WWE and how it gives you perspective. He mentions how Heath hasn’t had that yet, since he has stayed with the WWE from the start. He learned that no matter what you are given, just do what you can with it and make it work.

-Jinder brings up how the three of them had to go to air guitar practice at the Performance Center.

-Heath says he was blindsided by Drew and Jinder being fired. He was at home on his treadmill when he got the call from Drew and Jinder. He just assumed he was the next to go and when nobody called, he called the office and asked if they forgot to call him, and they told him he was safe.

-Jinder brings up that the same day, Heath ended up on RAW and pinned Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler. He jokes that once Heath dropped the band, he ended up getting wins. Jinder says the release was a shock as they had things planned out for months.

-Drew felt that he could move on from the WWE because the UK scene was picking up and he knew he learned a lot in the 8 years he was in the WWE. He was just moving in with his girlfriend (now his wife), and said that he became focused on the next goal.

-Heath says that he knew Drew would be back and the other boys knew as well. He felt the same about Jinder as well. Drew says that he went out of control in his 20s and it got worse when his mother passed away. He needed the time away to find himself as a performed and as a man. He appreciates that Heath and Jinder were there for him through that rough period.

-Jinder also calls his release a blessing as it stopped from being complacent. He was just coasting in the WWE at the time and he needed the wake-up call. He calls being lazy and complacent the kiss of death in the WWE and that it was tough love by the WWE. He says that he went cold turkey from drinking and all he did was train and build his body. Soon the WWE was calling again.

-Jinder brings up the reward of being successful has proved to be so much better than all the partying they did. He brings up being WWE Champion, Drew being NXT Champion and Heath being a 4 time tag team champion. Jinder says that all he wanted was a second chance to give it his all and that is what he is doing now. Everything he does now is geared towards him being the best superstar he can be in the WWE. Heath says that it comes to a point where failure is not an option. He talks about how all three wanted to be pro-wrestlers and they made that happen.

-They talk about Drew being the first of the 3 of them getting the cal to the Main Roster. Drew was given the gimmick of being The Chosen One anointed by Vince McMahon. Drew was put over huge on his debut by Vince and really that is a tough task to live up to just as you are starting out. Vince even told the crowd that Drew was going to be a future World Champion. Drew says he had no clue that Vince was going to do that and he thought it was just going to be an interview segment.

-Jinder talks about going to FCW to train and he was told that Vince wanted to see him do two promos and a match. He was then told then he was going to TV that week. He made his debut in 2011 and was paired with The Great Khali. Jinder says that he wasn’t ready at the time, but when he got the call he had to go with it.

-Over to Heath who came in 2010 during the first season of NXT when it was just a reality contest. They talk about The Nexus and Drew says it was one of the biggest angles in RAW history. Heath talks about how Vince pitched the idea to them and they were going to be a pack of wolves. He handed each of them the “N” wristbands that he wanted all of them to wear. He told them all to destroy everything they could inside the barriers as they were getting new stuff anyway and that they needed to beat down CM Punk and leave John Cena laying during their RAW Main Event. That had to be both terrifying and amazing to have Vince McMahon pitch that to these kids that were barely even know by the WWE audience. They were sworn to secrecy and had to mingle with the boys until it was their time to hit the ring.

-I remember losing my mind during the angle and Heath talks about the reaction it got from the crow as nobody could believe what they were seeing. Drew mentions that it is hard to get reactions like that anymore and Jinder says like the reaction he got to winning the WWE Title (which is shown).

-Heath jokes that he used to be a bad ass and wouldn’t know that from his gimmick now. Jinder asks if Heath is the only left from the original Nexus and he says not that Daniel Bryan is back from his injury. It is pretty remarkable that Heath has lasted this long while others have been let go, but it’s a credit to how talented the guy is and how he is willing to work with anything they give him. Heath even says here that he knows his role as the funny guy, but he can be serious when needed and can be the guy to pull off the upsets. He says he can be the guy to do anything they need and all he wants is to be a wrestler, stay healthy, and provide for his kids and wife. God Bless Heath Slater!

-Heath brings up that they are trendsetters as their 3 man group came before The Shield, The Wyatts, and New Day. They also made it to Mania together even though Mark Henry eliminated all three of them at Mania XXX from the Battle Royal.

-They toast to each other and joke about having a reunion, before Jinder and Drew leave Heath hanging by himself.

-This was fun and Heath Slater was fantastic. His story is great and he is just a dude comfortable in his skin enjoying what he does for a living. Drew was good here as well, and for whatever reason, Jinder was the one that kind of took a back seat here. Again, this was a fun show to watch, and I enjoyed hearing from all 3 men about their struggles and successes in the business.

-Thanks for reading and go check out Wee-L-C if you haven’t already!
