AJ Styles Weighs In On Will Ospreay’s Styles Clash On Samoa Joe

Will Ospreay nailed the Styles Clash onto Samoa Joe at AEW Double or Nothing, and AJ Styles was impressed by the execution. Ospreay and Joe battled in an Owen Hart Foundation Tournament match at last Sunday’s PPV, and at one point in the match Ospreay hit Joe with Styles signature maneuver. He eventually picked up the win.
Styles commented on the moment on his Phenomenally Retro podcast and said that it’s not easy to hit Joe with it. He also recalled how Ospreay once hit him with his own Spiral Tap maneuver. You can see highlights below:
On Ospreay Having Hit a Spiral Tap On Him:
“He can do it. I’ve seen him do it. He hit a standing one on me. Not off the top rope, just a standing one on me. When we wrestled each other years ago, not only did he hit me with the leapfrog drop down drop kick, and then he hit me with my own spiral tap too.”
On Ospreay Hitting Joe With the Styles Clash:
“I did see clips of that. I’ve seen the Styles Clash onto Joe. I could tell you, hitting Joe with the Styles Clash is not an easy task. I’ve done it a couple times in my career. But man, he pulled it off flawlessly, so it’s awesome.”
