Anthem Sports & Entertainment Inc. and TNA Wrestling issued a press release on the recent exits of former creative team member Tommy Dreamer and former World Champion Tessa Blanchard this week. The announcement reads as follows:
“Anthem Sports Update
TNA Wrestling today announced a workforce reduction, designed to streamline operations and sharpen strategic focus and profitability.
TNA’s creative leadership team will see an immediate shift. Tommy Dreamer, who has worked in TNA’s Creative and Talent Relations Departments, is leaving the company as TNA and Dreamer mutually agreed to part ways.
TNA Wrestling also has come to terms on the release of Tessa Blanchard.
We wish Tessa, Tommy and others the best in their future endeavors.”
It’s rumored that TNA Wrestling wasn’t happy about Blanchard appearing in CMLL while under contract with TNA. Meanwhile, it’s also rumored that Dreamer’s recent creative decisions had come under heavy scrutiny, and company president Carlos Silva met with Dreamer yesterday (June 16) before the decision was executed.
With Dreamer exiting TNA, PWInsider reports that creative team member Delirious is taking point on TNA’s creative direction. Also, Fightful Select reports that WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg was discussed as a potential replacement.
